ARM LIFT
Procedure in Miami, FL

Are you experiencing reduced skin laxity in the arms as part of the aging process? Have you recently lost a lot of weight – perhaps from bariatric surgery – and now you have droopy skin underneath your arms? If either of these scenarios applies to you, you could be a good candidate for an arm lift.

WHAT IS ARM LIFT SURGERY

Arm Lift Service Women

An arm lift procedure, also called Brachioplasty, is a plastic surgery in which deflated or loose and sagging arm skin is excised, and the remaining skin is re-draped over the arm. The procedure, which is performed under general anesthesia and takes about 2 to 3 hours to complete, includes:

  • An incision made in the inner backside of your arm, from which fat will be removed.
  • If a significant amount of excess skin is present, additional skin is removed via the top of the arm and into the armpit.
  • Tightening up and re-draping of the remaining arm skin for a more toned look.

CAN YOU GET AN ARM LIFT?

You are generally considered a good candidate for arm lift surgery if:

  • You have excess arm skin and desire a more toned appearance.
  • You’re in good general health and can pass a pre-op appointment with your primary care physician.
  • You’re in good psychological health.
  • You’re a non-smoker, as tobacco usage can complicate surgery and inhibit your body’s ability to heal.

ARM LIFT PROCEDURE RECOVERY

Recovering from this plastic surgery procedure requires a variety of steps. Depending on your surgical plan, you may need to wear a compression garment in the days immediately following your surgery.

Generally speaking, you’ll need to take one to two weeks off work for recovery and wait 10 days post-op before you can drive again. You should continue taking brief walks immediately after surgery, but avoid strenuous exercise – especially that which involves the arms – for four to six weeks.
