TUMMY TUCK
Procedure

Have you recently lost weight, but have some loose or sagging skin on your abdomen? If so, you may be a great candidate for a tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty surgery.

WHAT IS A TUMMY TUCK PROCEDURE?

Tummy Tuck Service

At our plastic surgery center, we perform this outpatient procedure on patients who have loose or sagging skin on their bellies after having lost weight. Patients must have maintained their current weight for at least 6 months before we can perform this surgery. This milestone is important because future weight fluctuations may negate the incredible results you receive from your tummy tuck. Additionally, you must:

  • Be in good overall health, and be able to pass a pre-op appointment with your general practitioner prior to your surgery date.
  • Have a nutrition and exercise plan in place to maintain your current weight long-term.
  • Be in good psychological health.
  • If female, be certain you’re done having children as future pregnancies may affect your surgical results.

WHAT IS ABDOMINOPLASTY?

During this procedure, our plastic surgeon will:

  • Make a hip-to-hip incision below your bikini line.
  • Excise any loose and sagging abdominal skin.
  • If necessary, stitch up separated abdominal muscles, a condition called diastasis recti, which may cause a bulge in your abdomen that you are unable to lose via diet and/or exercise.

WHY GET A TUMMY TUCK?

Many of our patients come to us to get beach-ready after having lost a significant amount of weight. This includes having lost weight through a diet and exercise plan, weight loss surgery, or after pregnancy.

The end result will have you feeling more confident wearing swimwear or clothing that is tight-fitting, in the abdomen post-surgery. The procedure will provide you with a firmer, sleeker physique without the loose and sagging belly skin you previously had.
