LIPOFILLING
Procedure

Do you have some extra fat on your body but in all the wrong places? Well, believe it or not, you can now actually transfer your own fat from troublesome areas to other places on your body that you want to be more full through a process known as lipofilling. Does this procedure sound potentially beneficial to you? Let’s dive a bit deeper into this subject.

WHAT IS A LIPOFILLING PROCEDURE?

Lipofilling Service

This operation, which is also known as a fat transfer or fat grafting procedure, is a cosmetic surgery that is designed to transfer a person’s own fat to other areas of their body to fill in grooves, creases, and other irregularities. Essentially, this procedure uses your own fat as a type of permanent filler for soft tissues that need additional volume. Although this surgery has recently become much more popular, fat grafting is an established technique that was originally developed in the early 1990s.

Before the lipofilling process, the ideal donor site areas of the body are located. These regions typically include the belly, love handles, buttocks, back, thighs, neck, upper inner arms, and the inner part of the knees. Then the fat is harvested with 2 or 3-millimeter cannulas through small 5 millimeter incisions that are made within skin creases (such as the lower buttocks fold or regions of the body that are covered by undergarments). This fat is then transferred to the desired area by injection with a cannula measuring 1 to 2.5 millimeters in diameter. On top of this, the small size of the cannula essentially leaves no scarring at the injection site. Although the procedure sounds quite lengthy, it can actually be completed within a few hours at most

WHAT AESTHETIC CONDITIONS CAN LIPOFILLING PROCEDURES EFFECTIVELY IMPROVE?

Fat grafting surgeries can be very effective at improving the appearance of the following cosmetic issues:

  • Sunken cheeks
  • Deep grooves and creases (such as the ones that run from the nose to the corners of the mouth)
  • Loss of fat from the cheekbones
  • Thin lips
  • Any other irregularities caused by injuries or poorly performed liposuction procedures
