BODY LIFT
WEIGHT LOSS

Surgery

Patients who undergo bariatric surgery receive transformational results, sometimes shedding over 100 lbs. However, though the fat melts away, many patients are left with loose and sagging skin throughout their body that doesn’t snap back naturally.

For this reason, many patients who lose a significant amount of weight due to weight loss surgery choose a cosmetic procedure to rejuvenate their bodies called post-bariatric surgery.

WHAT IS A BODY LIFT SURGERY?

post-bariatric 2

Post-bariatric surgery is a combination of plastic surgery procedures designed to excise loose skin and recontour the body after surgical weight loss. It can include several plastic surgery procedures, such as a:

  • Tummy tuck
  • Arm lift
  • Thigh lift/leg lift
  • Breast lift, if applicable
  • Neck lift

Your post-bariatric surgery after weight loss treatment plan is going to be highly individualized based on the presentation of lax skin on your body, and your desired outcomes.

  • Be in good psychological health.

BODY LIFT SURGERY RECOVERY

Since every surgical treatment plan is unique, your recovery will differ from that of other patients with different surgical plans and goals. At a minimum, you should be prepared to take at least two weeks off work or your other daily activities to recover, during which time it would be best if you have help around the home. You may need to wear compression garments to minimize swelling. And you’ll need to refrain from exercise for four to six weeks at a minimum.
